Flere Fugle – A Nordvest Favorite for Any Time of Day

Flere Fugle is hands down one of my favorite spots in town. It started as a café and bakery officially early 2022, after delays, I am assuming, due to Covid, and since then, it has become a Nordvest staple. If you’ve ever walked by on a Saturday or Sunday morning, you’ve probably seen the rush—between 10 AM and noon, finding a seat can be tricky. You usually manage to snag one, but you might have to wait a bit.

Their bread is incredible, and their pastries are absolutely worth the trip. The coffee is great, and their chai lattes (my go-to drink) are especially nice—served in the beautiful, handmade Julie Damhus cups that make the experience feel even more special. What’s been interesting over the past 2 years is how they’ve expanded their menu, offering more food in the afternoons and evenings. You can now grab a pizza, and they’ve also added a wider selection of drinks, making it just as much of a dinner spot as a morning café. It’s turned into a place where you can easily spend an entire day—morning coffee, an afternoon snack, and dinner with drinks.

During the week, it’s much quieter, making it a great place to work or read. But whether you're picking up fresh bread and pastries or sitting down for a relaxed evening meal, it always delivers.

Flere Fugle is located in Demokrati Garage, a cluster of buildings on Rentemestervej that gives the café a unique atmosphere. In the summer, its neighbor, Fire Tyve, opens up—a wine bar and shop with a fantastic selection of bottles and small bites. The two spots complement each other perfectly; you can grab a pizza from Flere Fugle and enjoy it at one of Fire Tyve’s outdoor tables with a glass of wine.

It’s a place that keeps evolving, but no matter when you visit, it always feels like a little piece of Nordvest at its best.
